When it comes to getting into the medical school of your choice it is not as easy as you may think. Certainly a lot of people who have already done the training will tell you that it is the hardest thing when it comes to actually getting your medical education. 1. You will need to study hard whilst at high school if you are sure that you want to train as a medical professional. It is important that most medical school admissions committees do not look purely at a student's grades, they also look at what you have done outside of the school environment. Therefore if you have the chance volunteer to work in some sort of medical setting do so. Not only will this show the admissions committee that you are keen but it will also provide you with a chance to see if this is really the profession that you are interested in training for.

You will need to ensure that you have taken either a biology or pre-med major course whilst at high school along with other science classes as well. you should include a years studying in general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics and biology within your studies and also a least 1 term studying English composition.

3. If you feel confident enough then take the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) during your junior year. By doing this you will be able to see what your strengths and weaknesses are and can prepare yourself if you should need to resit it. 4. Once you have received your MCAT score you should then apply to all those medical schools which you are interested in attending during the summer months. The longer you wait then the more people will be applying for the few places that are available so the later you leave it the more picky the committees will become when choosing those students that wish to accept. When it comes to time for you to attend the interviews by the schools that have invited you the first thing you should do is dress professionally. You need to be in a smart suit or smart clothes and look neat and tidy. Also allow yourself time to arrive around 10 to 15 minutes prior to your interview taking place.
