The test is made up of multiple choice questions and it designed to help colleges identify those students who are not only able to think critically but who have basic science knowledge and can apply it in the right way. It is these skills which a college would like to see that their students have before they accepted them on to any of their courses. Each MCAT is made up of 4 sections as follows:- 1. Physical Sciences 2. Verbal Reasoning - This helps to demonstrate that a student is able to read critically and then to understand what inferences are being made in the text that they have just read. 3. Writing Sample - This part of the test will show that a student is able to write a coherent essay that others when they read it will understand what it is that they are trying to convey. 4. What this test actually does is to show just what you have learned whilst at college during your sciences classes and provides an evaluation of your abilities in relation to you being able to understand as well as analyze information provided to you in order to solve the problems that have been placed before you. What this means is that this test has been devised in order to assess whether you have the skills that are required in order for you to successfully gain your qualifications whilst at medical school and so have a successful career in medicine.
